The game no soccer fan should miss: Two teams in very different situations face off this Saturday, October 25 at 9PM/8C/6PT on Telemundo, with runner-up Pachuca looking for its ticket to the play-offs and Leones Negros stepping it up to avoid relegation

Deportes Telemundo presents the Liga MX Torneo Apertura Week 14 matchup, with runner-up Pachuca hosting the University of Guadalajara’s Leones Negros, live at Hidalgo Stadium this Saturday, October 25 at 9PM/8C/6PT. Veteran sportscaster Sammy Sadovnik and three-time Mexican top scorer Carlos Hermosillo will narrate the action at this decisive match.

It’s been more than a decade since the two teams last faced each other, in a league tournament back in the 1992-1993 season.  Their last official encounter was on July 25, 2012 in the opening game of the Copa MX.  Viewers can enjoy their upcoming match live on Deportes Telemundo digital platforms, deportestelemundo.com, Deportes Telemundo EN VIVO EXTRA app, play by play on Twitter @telemundosports and in pictures on Instagram @deportestelemundo.

Enrique Meza’s team has climbed the league charts and is very close to securing its place in the final phase of the Liga MX Torneo Apertura 2014. “We are in the top eight, and after doing our best to finish well in Concachampions we’ll come home and try to get the three points we need to put us among the first-place teams,” Mexican midfielder Diego de Buen commented. Pachuca has won seven of the last nine points up for grabs in the tournament after beating Monarcas in an away game in Morelia, trouncing Jaguares 2-0 at home, and winning one point in a 1-1 tie with the UNAM Pumas at Mexico’s 1968 Olympic Stadium.

Leones Negros are starting to bounce back after three consecutive games without a loss. Luis Alfonso Sosa’s team will take the field in Hidalgo Stadium after tying Chiapas 1-1 in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, scoring a valuable victory at home over long-time rivals the UNAM Pumas, and wresting a point away from Puebla in an away game at Cuauhtémoc Stadium.
