The Reds could be looking to bring in the Serie A star this January, as per reports.

If reports are to be believed, Mario Balotelli may not be the only Serie A import for Liverpool this season.

The 24-year-old was signed from Milan this past summer as Brendan Rodgers sought to find a replacement for their key attacker Luis Suarez, but has failed thus far to justify the Premier League runners-up taking a gamble on him.

Meanwhile, the Reds are reportedly already planning their moves during this winter's transfer window, and could be looking to bring in another player from Italy.

Napoli captain Marek Hamsik is one that has been linked with a move away form the southern Italian club since last season and apparently Liverpool are closely monitoring the attacking midfielder's situation.

The Slovakian international has reportedly endured a difficult relationship with Rafa Benitez and could depart

Napoli have endured a tale of mixed fortunes thus far this season. Despite being unable to secure a Champions League berth via the play-offs, they have done well in their Europa League campaign by winning their first two games.

However, the same cannot be said in the league, with the Partenopei having an indifferent start and Rafa Benitez facing an uncertain future with the club. Moreover, it has been widely reported that the Spaniard and his captain do not see eye-to-eye and as a result, the 27-year-old's future in Italy could be subject of growing speculation as the winter transfer window slowly approaches.
