The Mexican player appeared in a Spanish TV show, discussing Real Madrid's current affairs and his possible rivalry with French striker Karim Benzema

During his visit to a TV show, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez spoke about the controversy over his signing with Real Madrid, among other topics.

Regarding his possible substitute condition, the Mexican striker refused to accept that role:

"I'm going to fight for my chance to start. No one will tell you that they train to be a sub,and I won't be happy waiting for my chance on the bench. I'm going to give 100% to make an impact," the player said.

"Chicharito" showed respect for fellow strikers Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. He even spoke about his desire to play at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium before he arrived into Madrid.

"Cristiano is the best in the world. If they doubt him and Madrid as a whole, why shouldn't they do it with me? He is the best, and Messi comes right behind him. (Karim) Benzema is a very talented player, he is a goal scorer who also provides lots of assists. I'm delighted to have the chance to compete with him," Hernandez added.

"The only time I've been at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium was when I came to play with Manchester United. Ever since then I wanted to be on the pitch, imagine how it is now,"he said.

Hernandez's first chance to play with Los Blancos may come on Saturday when they host city rivals Atletico Madrid.
