D.C. United have the chance to move to first place of Eastern Conference when they visit Sporting Kansas City on Saturday evening.

An entertaining match is expected on Saturday when Sporting Kansas City play against D.C. United at Sporting Park. Kansas City leads the Eastern Conference with 42 points while D.C. United holds the second place with just two points less. The team who comes out with victory after this match will remain as the sole leader until the next week.

After a comfortable 4-1 win against Toronto last Saturday, Kansas City is looking forward to keep their current form; Sporting has won a total of 7 games during the last 10 matches. Sporting’s youngster goalkeeper Jon Kempins has been under the spotlight in the last couple of weeks as he’s had outstanding performances with his club. The 21-year-old has won the MLS Save of the Week award twice in a row.

The goalkeeper gave his comments on Sporting’s tight schedule.

“Obviously, we've had a crazy schedule, so I'm trying to get used to that. But the team's been great back there helping me out, and I've just felt comfortable, so it's been good.”

On the other hand, D.C. United also comes from a victory after beating the Colorado Rapids 4-2 last Sunday and also beating Jaimaican side Waterhouse 1-0 on Wednesday in the CONCACAF Champions League.

D.C. United defender Sean Franklink gave his thoughts on the match.

"This is another chance, this is important this time of the year, given how close we are in the Supporters’ Shield race, and important for playoff position.”

United head coach Ben Olsen also commented on the upcoming match:

“Yeah, sure, our group is certainly excited to go to KC and see what we’re worth. We’re confident in the group that will be there on Saturday that we can get a result."
