The Chilean will play Monday against León for the Joan Gamper trophy, and will be starting against Elche in La Liga

Suspense is over, at least for now, concerning Barcelona’s starting goalkeeper. Since Marc-André Ter Stegen suffered a lower back injury, former Real Sociedad keeper Claudio Bravo will be Barcelona’s starter for the next matches.

Bravo showed confidence about the role he is going to take, and thanked his coach Luis Enrique for the opportunity.

“It feels really good to have your coach’s confidence. Luis Enrique requested my presence to the club, and his actions demonstrate he knows my kind of work and is happy with it. I will try my best,” the Chilean said.

Barcelona fans are dubious about Bravo’s performance, since he has been a little shaky in preseason, especially after a bad performance against Napoli. Bravo trusts his experience will make the difference, and Barcelona’s fans will be pleased with his job.

“If I was 15 years old maybe I would have taken therapy, but I’m a seasoned player, there is nothing to be worried about. Other teammates will make mistakes; the difference is they don’t go up in the score,” he indicated.

Bravo defended Real Sociedad’s net for eight years, conceding 301 goals in 237 games. The club’s fans looked up to him, as he didn’t ask to be transferred when the team got relegated in 2007. Barcelona paid the txuri-urdin 12 million euros for his services.
