Italian giants Internazionale are chasing the signature of Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, much to the pleasure of the player who is also on the transfer radar of an EPL club.

Earlier this week, Chicharito was quoted as saying by Italian news source Il Corriere dello Sport:

“I know there is much interest in me from the Italian club and I thank them for this. There are also other teams and everything obviously is pleasing, but right now I belong to Manchester United and it would be disrespectful to mention other teams even though I do not know what will happen once the tour of the US concludes.”

According to Sportsmail, one of these “other teams” is Southampton, who inquired about Javier Hernandez’s availability earlier in June, during the sale of Luke Shaw to the Red Devils. The Saints are experiencing an exodus of stars with Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Calum Chambers and Dejan Lovren all quitting St Mary’s Stadium, this summer.

On Thursday night, Southampton coach Ronaldo Koeman reassured fans, stating

“We are close to signing two or three new players and we hope to bring them in, in the next week.”

Javier Hernandez could be one of those signings. However, rather than staying in the English Premier League with a transfer to Southampton, the forward is reportedly more tempted to join the Nerazzurri because of Champions League football.

The Mexican has always struggled to cement his place in the First XI of Manchester United. The latter will not participate in any European competition during the 2014/15 season after a torrid run with sacked manager David Moyes saw them finish seventh in the English Premier League last season.

Meanwhile, despite being tipped as a "good option" by Diego Simeone to replace Diego Costa or David Villa, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has ruled out a possible transfer for Chicharito. Cerezo was speaking to Radio Marca when he added the Mexican to a shortlist of stars which included Santi Cazorla and Fernando Torres and confirmed:

"If we sign another player, it won't be any of them."
