After Dejan Lovren's harsh statements, Liverpool is set to close in on the Croatian and may let Skrtel leave to Galatasaray.

In recent days, Dejan Lovren released some harsh statements with regards to how his current club, Southampton, have handled Liverpool’s £20M offer for the Croatian player. The player stated:

“Liverpool sent the offer and the club haven't informed me. Not even about the subsequent Liverpool bids. That wasn't right.”

Lovren netted 2 goals in just 31 appearances with Southampton

Southampton’s defender added:

“I found out about the bid from other people which disappointed me and I realised I've got no business staying at Southampton. Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool.”

Dejan Lovren was very upset at Southampton's attempt to not disclose the Reds' offers

Meanwhile, Galatasaray have offered Martin Skrtel £100000 per week, to lure the defender to Istanbul. With the imminent arrival of Lovren, Rodgers may have more defenders than he needs, and may let the Slovakian defender go to Turkey, away from local competitors.

Martin Skrtel scored 7 goals with Liverpool this season
