Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, found in Varane the perfect replacement for his spot.

When asked about who would be best suited to replace him, Rio Ferdinand tweeted “Varane…Real Madrid won't sell though.” The young French defender, still in Brazil with his national team, has impressed with Real Madrid, every time he was given a chance.

Ferdinand, who played with the Red Devils for 12 years, is himself closing in on a deal that would see him join his former coach, Harry Redknapp at Queens Park Rangers. In addition, with Nemanja Vidic joining Inter, now Man United is in serious need of central defenders.
