How to watch Women's Super League in the United Kingdom

BBC Sport has extended its Women’s Super League broadcast rights in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland for the 2025-26 to 2029-30 seasons. Thanks to this five-year broadcast deal with the Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), the public broadcaster can continue its WSL coverage on free-to-air platforms until 2030.

As part of this deal, Women’s Super League fans in the UK and Ireland can watch a total of 21 WSL games for free on the BBC each season, 14 of which are exclusively broadcast on BBC TV. Meanwhile, the remaining seven Women’s Super League games that the BBC has the rights to are shared on BBC iPlayer and BBC digital platforms.

Furthermore, on the weekend of every WSL matchweek, audio commentary of select Women’s Super League games is broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, and local BBC radio stations.

Viewers can also view digital clips of every WSL match on the BBC Sport website, app, and its social media platforms. This includes highlights, goals, and other key moments from the Women’s Super League.

While the BBC is funded by a TV license paid by the public, BBC TV and its other linear channels are free to air, requiring no pay-TV subscription to access. BBC TV and its WSL coverage can also be accessed via third-party pay-TV operators such as Sky, Virgin, and EE TV.

WSL fans can stream live Women’s Super League games via BBC iPlayer on connected TVs, game consoles, and set-top boxes. The streaming service is also available on platforms such as Freesat, Sky, Virgin Media, and YouView.

Sky has extended its Women’s Super League broadcast rights deal in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, securing the rights to 90 percent of WSL games each season for five years, from 2025-26 through 2029-30.

As a result, WSL fans in the UK and the Republic of Ireland can watch 118 Women’s Super League games per season live on Sky and the Sky Sports channels, with 78 of those fixtures exclusive to the pay-TV broadcaster.

Of the remaining WSL matches available on Sky, over 30 are shared non-exclusively with the Women’s Professional Leagues Limited’s (WPLL) YouTube channel. The remaining fixtures are broadcast on both Sky and the BBC.

The pay-TV broadcaster has also secured over 75% of the first picks. Additionally, UK and Irish viewers can watch and stream all WSL games from each Women’s Super League season’s closing weekend exclusively on Sky.

Sky also delivers additional Women’s Super League content, including free highlights for all WSL fixtures via Sky Sports' digital platforms such as its website, app, and YouTube channels.

Fans in the UK and the Republic of Ireland can subscribe to Sky TV to watch or stream live WSL games. This requires both a Sky TV base pack and the Sky Sports add-on.

Sky TV is available through satellite and streaming options, including Sky Q, Sky Stream, and Sky Glass, as well as Sky Go—the streaming service included for free for Sky subscribers.

Fans can stream live WSL matches on Sky Go by downloading its app, available on laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. Importantly, the BBC may be available on Sky TV, thus giving Sky subscribers access to all televised Women’s Super League matches. However, availability is subject to change, as carriage agreements can end.

Non-Sky subscribers in the UK and Ireland can also stream live WSL games on NOW, Sky’s subscription-based streaming service. Viewers still require a membership or package to stream the Women’s Super League.

NOW is compatible across numerous Internet-connected devices, including PCs and Macs, via the platform’s official website. The NOW app is available for download on smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and select PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as set-top boxes and streaming devices like the EE TV box, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku.

All matches not selected by Sky or the BBC for live television coverage are broadcast globally on the online streaming platform, with users able to watch 66 matches on YouTube each season until the end of the 2024-25 season.

From the 2025-26 season, this number got slashed after a new bumper deal agreed between the BBC and Sky for the WSL meant 90% of matches (up from 50%) would be shown on live television.

WSL content on the Barclays Women's Super League YouTube channel also includes highlights from every match, catch-up of full matches and features including players and managers from every WSL club.

Fans can watch the WSL on YouTube via a web browser or the YouTube app, which is available on iOS and Android devices. Live commentary of each match is in English.
