Magyar Ligakupa History, Format, Organization, Media Coverage
The Hungarian League Cup, also known as the Magyar Ligakupa, was an annual football tournament contested by clubs in the NB I (the Hungarian League). It was created in 2007 but was canceled after eight seasons, with 2015-2016 being the last edition.
Videoton, a club which was later renamed Fehérvár FC in 2019, won the inaugural title, beating Debrecen 3-0 across both legs in the grand final. Fehérvár FC won this competition an additional two times, making them the most successful club during Magyar Ligakupa’s short reign, with Ferencváros coming second with two titles.
