About Fox Sports 506
Fox Sports 506 is a sports channel broadcasting its content in Australia. It is owned and operated by Foxtel and it is part of the Fox Sports Network. Fox Sports 506 has eight sister channels: Fox Sports Mix, Fox Sports News, Fox Cricket, Fox League, Fox Footy, Fox Sports 503, Fox Sports 505, Fox Sports More, and Fox Sports Ultra HD.
Fox Sports 506 was originally known as SPEED until September 2014, when Fox Sports decided to change its name to Fox Sports 5. All of SPEED’s content and broadcasting rights were transferred to Fox Sports 5. That rebranding did not last long, as Fox Sports rebranded the channel to its current name on February 23, 2017.
Throughout its history, Fox Sports 506 has covered most of the same sports as its sister channels, but it has privileged motor sports coverage. Those sports have included Australian rules football, basketball, cricket, combat sports, darts, field hockey, golf, ice hockey, motor sport, rugby, football, surfing, tennis, bowling, and more.
Speaking about football, Fox Sports has covered such events as the Hyundai A-League, the Asian Champions League, the AFC Asian Cup, the Indian Super League, and the Westfield W-League. The network has also covered international friendly games featuring the Australian National Football Team.
Fox Sports 506 has a standard definition and a high definition feed available for users to watch since its last rebranding.
