The biggest competition in Europe, the UEFA Champions League is about to resume tomorrow as clubs compete for a berth in the Quarter Finals of the competition. The event will feature some of the most exciting young talents in the football world.
1) James Rodriguez

At a young age of 21, Porto winger James Rodriguez has quickly established himself as one of the most important players in his team. The young midfielder has made 17 appearances for the Portuguese giants this season scoring 8 goals. Rodriguez has terrific pace, wonderful dribbling skills and a lethal shot which make him one of the budding stars in Europe. The Colombian was on Manchester United’s radar in the summer transfer window and Porto will hope he can maintain his credentials with a fine performance against Malaga in their Champions League encounter.

2) Stephan El Shaarawy

The Italian international has rose to prominence after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and has single handedly carried Milan forward. The 20 year old has scored 18 goals so far this season, however only two have come in the Champions League. He will be expected to spearhead the attack against Barcelona, in the absence of the cup tied Mario Balotelli. Being one of their most consistent performers this season, Milan will be looking forward to the young striker to guide them to victory against the Spanish giants.

3) Francisco Alarcon (Isco)

Malaga midfield sensation Francisco Alarcon aka Isco, has been one of the star attractions of this season. His performances this term, have made him a strong candidate to leave the financially troubled Malaga for a bigger club next season. English giants Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have already expressed their interest in the highly rated midfielder. The attacking midfielder has scored 10 and assisted three goals for Malaga this season and will play a crucial role for the Los Boquerones in their Champions League tie against Porto.

4) Ilkay Gündogan

The Midfielder is another of Dortmund’s exciting prospects. Gundogan operates as a defensive midfielder, but his amazing vision and skills make him a reckoning attacking force too. Such is his quality that he has kept the returning Nuri Sahin out of the side, a player he shares a similar playing style to. After being rested in Dortmund’s tie against Hamburger SV, the young midfielder is likely to regain his starting berth in the Champions League match against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

5) Jack Wilshere

At only 21 years of age, Jack Wilshere is without a shadow of doubt one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League. His ability to control the midfield and his maturity on the pitch is beyond his tender age. It is difficult to find a midfielder fully equipped with both attacking and defensive abilities at such a young age. After his 14 month injury lay off, Wilshere was expected to take his time to settle in, however he has shocked everyone by returning as an even stronger player than before. Wilshere will be hoping to be fit in time, for Arsenal’s Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich after suffering a knock against Sunderland. The Arsenal wonderkid will be the biggest hurdle in Bayern’s quest to advance to the Quarter Final of the Champions League.
