After four months of waiting, fans all over the world will be able to watch the beginning of the 2024 edition of the Brazilian Serie A, most commonly known as Brasileirao. The top-tier category in Brazilian football kicks off once the state championships came to a conclusion, with some major changes to the lineup of teams involved in the tournament and more top-caliber players to keep an eye on.
Palmeiras will return to the 2024 season as defending champions. The Verdao claimed their 12 title in the competition after a close battle with Gremio, which was decided until the final weeks of the tournament.
Just like in almost all leagues in the world, the Brasileirao will welcome new teams to the lot, while also saying goodbye to some familiar faces. Speaking of those, this will be the first Brasileirao season without the legendary Santos, who were relegated to Serie B after an unfortunate finish of the 2023 season. Instead, the Brazilian Serie A will welcome Vitoria, Juventude, Criciuma, and Atlético Goianense.
When it comes to managerial changes, former Brazil National Team coaches such as Luiz Felipe Scolari and Mano Menezes will not be around for this season. Instead, coaches such as Gabriel Milito, Cuca, or Artur Jorge will be among those with new managerial opportunities.
