Klopp's men are battling with Man City and Arsenal for the Premier League but have fallen into an injury crisis during the title run-in.

Liverpool are currently top of the table in the Premier League and are one of the favorites to win the Premier League this season. However, the club's title charge took a huge blow in their clash with Brentford.

The Merseyside giants traveled to the Gtech Community Stadium in Saturday's early fixture, taking on Thomas Frank's side in a crucial fixture. Beating the Bees on their own turf is no easy feat and if that was not difficult enough, Jurgen Klopp's men were handed two huge additional blows.

Two key players suffered injuries in the first half of the game, with one being stretchered off the pitch. The first to fall victim to this was Curtis Jones who was hurt while being tackled by a Brentford player — the midfield was cleanly dispossessed of the ball, however.

The second injury was infinitely more concerning. Diogo Jota was stretchered off the pitch in pain after being involved in an unfortunate collision with Christian Nørgaard that saw the Brentford ace fall on Jota's leg with the full force of his weight.

Jota, who has been influential in front of goal for Liverpool, played a crucial role in his side's opening goal by setting Darwin Nunez through on goal. That means the Portuguese attacker has a whopping eight goal contributions in his last seven Premier League games for the club.

While the length of his injury will not be determined soon, the fact that Jota was stretchered off the pitch likely means he will be sidelined for a significant period, thus robbing Klopp of a key player in his final few months in charge.

The Premier League leaders are already without Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to miss this month's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. Additionally, Alisson picked up a hamstring injury right before the Brentford trip while Szoboszlai is yet to return.

Furthermore, Matip, Bajetic, and Thiago are also unavailable, which highlights the significance of Liverpool's injury crisis ahead of the title run-in. Fortunately, the Merseyside giants entered this round with a two-point advantage over both Man City and Arsenal and could stretch this lead, albeit only temporarily, to five points with a win at the Gtech Community Stadium.
