Jürgen Klopp had hinted it earlier, but Mohamed Salah's agent has confirmed the worst fears for all Egypt fans: the Pharaohs best footballer will be out for the rest of the 2023 AFCON.
The player walked off the pitch during Egypt's 2-2 draw against Ghana, leaving fans with heavy concerns about his potential return to the team for the KO stage. Unfortunately, only a miracle will see Salah returning with Rui Vitoria's crew for the remainder of the tournament, as the type of injury he picked up will take more time to heal than initially expected.
Ramy Abbas Issa, Salah's agent, took it to X (formerly Twitter) to share the unfortunate update on Salah's health.
Mohammed's injury is more serious than first thought and he will be out for 21-28 days, and not 2 games.

His best chance at participating in the current AFCON is by undergoing intensive rehabilitation in the uk and rejoining the team as soon as he is fit.
With this in mind, Egypt's chances of winning the AFCON have been reduced dramatically, as Salah is the team's driving force due to his skills and experience. All those involved in his recovery still believe he can be back in time for an eventual final, but it is safe to say that Egypt may find it a bit hard to reach the title game without their main man on the pitch.
