One of the conditions Kyle Walker set to keep himself from joining another team this summer was to have Manchester City extending his contract as soon as the season started. Today, the club announced his contract extension, and they did it in the best possible way.
The right-back, who is considered among the top in the world, has put pen to paper to a contract extension that will see him playing for Guardiola's team until 2026. By the time his new deal is over, Walker will be 35-years old, but hopefully with more trophies under his belt.
To announce such big news, the club decided to pay tribute to the 2013 movie "The Wolf of Wall Street", starring Leonardo Di Caprio, with Walker "playing" the role of the Oscar-winning actor. The player delivered his own version of a famous scene in the movie, with most of his teammates playing the roles of Di Caprio's co-workers in the movie. The video quickly earned praise and had been seen by over 7 million users on X (formerly Twitter) at the time this article was being written.

Walker has played every single minute of the 2023-24 season for Manchester City, even wearing the captain's armband in three of those fixtures. Hopefully for him, he will be able to keep up the good work and support Guardiola's words, after the Spanish coach fought hard to keep him around.
