Negotiating a transfer is always tough, but when it comes to negotiating a deal for one of Napoli's players, it is even tougher.
In an interview with L'Equipe, Napoli boss Aurelio Di Laurentiis revealed how the club snubbed in spectacular fashion a massive bid by Al Hilal to sign their star player: Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
The Italian tycoon did not hold back about the reply he sent to the Arabian side, which reveals just how complicated it could be to lure the former Manchester United target out of Diego Maradona stadium.
Al Hilal reportedly offered over $200M for the player's services, but Di Laurentiis was not impressed by that number.
"I told them: 'With that offer you could not pay for one of Victor's feet'. I copied Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, to keep him in the loop," Di Laurentiis said.
Then, the exec added one mor phrase to emphasize on his answer.
"Maybe next year you can come back with an offer for $500M and we could probably think about it. But let me say that again: maybe," Di Laurentiis added.
Napoli snubbed all sorts of offers for some of their key players, who were linked to some European giants all summer long. While almost all players were seduced by the mighty power of a massive wage from Saudi Arabian sides, Di Laurentiis refused to even listen to those offers and kept Osimhen around. Will there be a chance to see the Nigerian striker leaving in the near future? Let's wait for that offer to come, so Di Laurentiis can reply in such an epic fashion.
