It has finally happened. Lionel Messi is officially an Inter Miami player, with the Argentine icon having been unveiled by his new club in front of a sold-out DRV PNK Stadium over the weekend.
The 35-year-old legend arrives in the MLS after leaving PSG over the summer when his contract ran out. The seven-time Ballon d'Or has signed a mega-money deal, albeit nowhere close to what was on offer from Saudi Arabia, pocketing $50M-$60M annually in a contract that runs through 2025.
However, while the topic of his Inter Miami contract is an interesting one, the focus has mainly centered around these questions: when will Leo make his debut and where can I watch his games live?
The Argentine has all but confirmed the first question. In a post on Instagram, the Barcelona legend wrote "see you on Friday" to the Herons fans, meaning he will likely make his debut in his team's opening game of the 2023 Leagues Cup against Cruz Azul.
As of now, there are 15 games scheduled for Inter Miami across three different competitions for him to star in – however, this number could increase should Tata Martino's men progress in a few of those tournaments. This July 21 showdown will be immediately followed up on by their other Leagues Cup clash with Atalanta United, meaning little to no rest for Leo.
