The German boss is desperate to sign a reliable striker for Die Roten, which has pushed him to seek for help in one of his former teams.

The current transfer scenario at Bayern will see the German champions dealing with many players in and out of the club, but one of them is a top priority for Thomas Tuchel: signing a reliable No.9.

The German tactician has determined that signing a striker is the main order of business for Bayern this summer, and before any players that have not worked with him are offered to the team's hierarchy, he has chosen to make a move for one of his former pupils.

Reports coming in from Germany state that Tuchel has already contacted none other than Kai Havertz, who has been deemed as surplus to Chelsea's requirements, to try and lure him to Allianz Arena as the striker he needs. Havertz, who was linked to Real Madrid at some point this week, was key to Tuchel's success at Stamford Bridge, and the coach would like to replicate such success with Bayern.

It is yet to be seen if Chelsea are keen on letting Havertz join Tuchel, although the club may be forced to do so to balance their financial statements after an unsuccessful and massive spending spree last summer. The player is reportedly keen to reunite with the former coach, which means that both sides will have to sit down and negotiate Chelsea's $70M asking price for the footballer.
