The Argentine ace is set to join Inter Miami once La Albiceleste puts an end to their international commitments in what will be his first experience away from European football.

Lionel Messi's decision to join Major League Soccer is still causing quite a stir, and this time one of his former teammates with Argentina shared a fresh take on why "La Pulga" chose to make that move in his career.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN, former West Ham and Manchester United striker Carlos Tévez shared his views on Messi's decision, approving the move to keep him at ease and ready to enjoy himself with his close ones.

"He loves Miami. It's a peace of mind for him and his family,"Tévez revealed in the interview.

The Boca Juniors legend admitted that Messi was going to be the target of harsh criticism if he returned to play at Camp Nou, which justifies his decision to choose a club from the North American league.

"I think what he did was the right thing to do. And if it wasn't Barcelona, where he knew he would once again become the center of attraction, it was nothing in Europe. The decision was made very well," Tévez added.

Messi is expected to join Inter Miami for the second half of the 2023 MLS season. If things continue their current course in the North American league, Messi will have quite a bit to worry about, as the team owned by David Beckham is 15th in the Eastern Conference, with only five wins and 12 losses.
