The Red Devils star suffered an injury in the final 10 minutes of the 2-0 win, leaving Ten Hag and Manchester United fans sweating over his fitness.

Saturday was a bitter-sweet day for Manchester United as the English giants kicked off Matchweek 30 in the Premier League with a much-needed win over Everton but lost one key player to injury.

That man is none other than Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils' top scorer this season, who limped off the pitch in the final 10 minutes of the game after the tie had all but ended.

The 25-year-old, who has 27 goals under his belt across all competitions, came close to scoring on a number of occasions and while the Three Lions ace failed to find the back of the net, he assisted Anthony Martial for Manchester United's second and decisive goal.

However, Rashford came off for Wout Weghorst late on in this fixture, with Erik ten Hag later offering a concerning update on his star attacker. The Dutchman admitted to being uncertain of the extent of this issue given how recently it occurred. Nonetheless, the 53-year-old stated that it "doesn't look well" for his talisman.

"We have to wait, doesn't look well. Once again that is due to the schedule. It can't be you play three games in six days. We have to protect our players," Ten Hag said.

The issue appeared to be a groin problem, which is alarming, as Manchester United have a UEFA Europa League quarterfinal showdown with Sevilla coming this Thursday. Bar a miracle, Rashford could miss that first-leg tie at Old Trafford.

Today's victory over Everton helped Bruno Fernandes and Co. strengthen their grip on a top-four spot. The English giants currently sit in third with a three-point lead over fourth-placed Newcastle. However, the Magpies could reclaim that spot from the Red Devils if they beat Brentford.
