The Nigerian was at it again, inspiring the Serie A club to a vital win in Tuesday night's Champions League.

Napoli striker Victor Oshimen launched himself to a new career high with another memorable performance in Tuesday night's Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt. The 24-year-old striker made history by scoring once again as the Partenopei cruised to a comfortable win in Germany.

Arguably the most in-form striker in Europe at the moment, it did not take long for the influence of Oshimen to be felt in the attack for Napoli. In the 35th minute the Nigerian striker earned his side a penalty after being kicked in Frankfurt's 18-yard box by Aurelio Buta. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia subsequently stepped up to do the honors but had his attempt saved by Kevin Trapp. Needless to say, it did not take long for Napoli's main marksman to make amends on behalf of his teammate, getting the end of a cross from Hirving Lozano and tapping it home for the game's opener. In the end, Napoli concluded the first leg against Frankfurt with a two-goal advantage with Kvaratskhelia assisting Giovanni Di Lorenzo for the second goal in the 65th minute. A straight red card to Randal Kolo Muani for a tackle on Frank Anguissa added to the misery of the hosts ahead of the second leg in Naples.

In retrospect, Oshimen's goal meant that he has now scored in six successive matches for the first time in his career. The Nigerian striker has now equalled the best goascoring tally of his career with his goal on Tuesday night taking his haul to 20 in 24 games across all competitions. He is also the first Napoli player to score 20 goals across all competitions since Arkadiusz Milik in 2018/19.
