Brazil and Paraguay will meet on Saturday as Group B is yet to produce a single goal.
Each team’s rather boring draw on the first match-day might have served as a huge lesson. Fans are unhappy, and certainly rightfully so. But for Paraguay, Coach Gerardo Martino has promised that the main focus will be to score. The manager, who works with strikers Roque Santa Cruz and Nelson Haedo Valdez at his disposal, has ordered his team to approach Brazil boldly.

“We won’t give up the intention of playing, attacking and trying win the game,” Martino revealed during a press conference.

“We are not perfect as a team. But we are working to maintain attention, concentration, and work-rate for 90 minutes.”

“Dani Alves goes on forever, outside, inside and he is almost a number 10. Not only Alves, but Ganso, Robinho, Pato, Neymar and other Brazilian players,” affirmed Martino on Wednesday. So how intelligent could it be for Paraguay to go all out and attack the Seleçao?

Well, Paraguay are goalless like Brazil and neutrals will be curious to see how expensive trying to get a single goal will cost Los Guaranies—knowing that Neymar and company could take advantage of holes created at the back. As of now, Group B remains the only section where no goal has been conceded or scored between all 4 teams. But Dani Alves is pretty sure that the deadlock will be broken at last.

“Paraguay is a team that likes to attack, so I think that when we face opponents that also attack, the match gets more open and gives you more possibilities.”

Will we witness a tight encounter where both team’s mental power is what will mainly influence the final result?
