Roberto Mancini claims that Carlos Tevez has told him that he wants to stay at Eastlands next season.
Manchester City have had a very successful season of football so far, ensuring Champions League qualification for next season as well as winning the oldest trophy in world football, the FA Cup. However, the future of their talisman Carlos Tevez has been a subject of intense speculation throughout the season after a reported fall-out with City's manager, Roberto Mancini.

The Argentinean striker handed in a transfer request earlier in the season but it was subsequently rejected as City made it clear that they will not be letting go of their most prized asset easily. However, recent success at Eastlands is rumored to have convinced Tevez to stay put with City and Mancini has now confirmed that speculation.

"He has scored 21 goals. We keep saying he's an important player. He told me before the cup final that he wants to stay with us next season.

"I think that he stays next year, I don't think we can change next year because we are playing Champions League. We will have a good squad because we can buy better players.

"He's a fantastic striker, a fantastic player. He has a five-year contract. His attitude was [a problem] in December but everyone can change. I think he is an important player here.

"I think that his feeling is good here. I spoke with him many times in the last 20 days and it’s my opinion that he will stay here next season. He can remain here."
