The defender's handed his side a crucial lead with a brilliant free-kick in the finale.

After more than 100 minutes of football action, Fulham finally landed their breakthrough in their quest for promotion thanks to Joe Bryan's stunning strike. The defender put his team in the driving seat by scoring a sensational free-kick before the end of the first half of extra-time.

The clash often referred to as the most valuable football match in the world had no goal separating the two West London rivals who made the finals this year after 90 minutes. It was not for the lack of trying as both sides were at the end of a series of brilliant attacking moves throughout the proceeding.

However, it took a moment of genius by Fulham left-back Joe Bryan to usher his side into control with the game past its climax. The strike subsequently set Brentford on course for their ninth play-off defeat, the worst ever run managed by a club in the history of the competition.
