The Uruguayan striker will be out of a contract by the end of the season, and there are several teams interested in his services.

Edinson Cavani keeps being linked to many teams around the world, and while his mother did not share specific details on where he will continue his playing career, she ended up ruling out the possibility of making a trip back to America in the near future.

Speaking in an interview with Uruguayan newspaper Ovación, Berta Gómez revealed that his son is not thinking about returning to his home country or joining any South American side this summer.

"He is not thinking about going back to Uruguay. His mind is set on playing in Europe, and he has named Spain as his top priority. He will have quite a few teams to choose from, thank God," Cavani's mother stated.

PSG's all-time top scorer was heavily linked to Atlético Madrid last winter, but reports coming in from Argentina suggested that Boca Juniors was about to place a bid for his services. Such interest may end after the words spoken by Cavani's mother.

"We don't know yet where he will be playing. We have many teams interested in him, but we have time to think. There are three months left and we will decide when the time comes," Cavani's mother concluded.
