It’s not all smiles at Inter at the moment. The Nerazzurri seemed to be doing very well under Coach Leonardo until they recently lost to Milan in the Serie A and to Schalke in the Champions League.

Coach Leonardo misguided Inter into two consecutive defeats to AC Milan and Schalke 04 respectively.Suddenly, Inter’s future this season hangs between the uncertainty of achieving success and the enormous prospect of being trapped into failure. Last weekend’s total fiasco in the Derby della Madonnina downed Internazionale onto the third place in Italy’s Serie A table and 5 points behind league leaders AC Milan.

Perhaps, all is not lost for the Nerazzurri. After all, as Live Soccer TV explained here the other time, the Rossoneri may well lose some points in their upcoming matches –which involve AS Roma, Sampdoria and Udinese. However, as they aim to retain the Scudetto, how confident must Inter be about relying on Milan’s possible mistakes in the closing stages of the Serie A?

There’s been a big bad signal, already. In the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Inter alarmingly portrayed the worst way of responding to a defeat as they got thrashed by Schalke 04 2-5 at the San Siro. Now, whereas their chances in Europe are all but dead, the momentum they need to bounce back in the Serie A looks to have been terribly affected. Has Coach Leonardo lost it?

“Critcism is part of the game. It’s something normal,” Leonardo insisted as he addressed himself to the press in Italy.

“But we’re not making any drama of that. I feel a balance despite the criticism.

“For me, this team and club have always been able to rise above it and I want to remind people that we are still in the cup and in the league.

“Of course, what happened were two big defeats. However, there’s no desperation. We will find the solution.”

It is certainly not that difficult to declare that Inter will find a solution to end the season with some silverware. But you’d want to know how true this belief could be. The Italian Serie A resumes this weekend with Inter Milan vs Chievo Verona kicking off the action at 4pm GMT. A bad response from the Nerazzuri might only force Coach Leonardo to think otherwise.
