The Gunners might not wait until the summer to appoint a new permanent coach but sadly, Allegri is no longer an option.

Arsenal are in crisis at the moment. Unai Emery was sacked not long ago after failing to in a Premier League game since the beginning of October, with Freddie Ljungberg being appointed as the interim boss but the Swedish icon has failed to win his first two games and appears to be out of his depth.

As a result, there are claims that the board are not ready to wait until the summer to appoint an experienced coach. One rumored candidate is Max Allegri but the Italian boss has handed the north London giants a huge blow.

The former Juventus boss in one of a few experienced and decorated managers available at the moment, having left the Old Lady over the summer after winning five Serie A titles in a row.

He is reportedly wanted by some among the Arsenal board but Allegri has ruled out the possibility of taking over the club anytime soon. He spoke to Corriere della Sera and admitted that he will not return to coaching until next summer.

"I am not going to coach [any team] until next season," Allegri said, as per Marca.

"[I will not coach] before that."

The Gunners are in their worst form since 1977 and do not have the luxury of waiting until the summer and must act quickly or risk things getting even worse. Given that Rodgers has just signed an extension at Leicester, Arsenal's options are growing thinner.

Ancelotti is expected to be out of work soon due to the troubles at Napoli while Pochettino remains an option, albeit an unrealistic one. It will be interesting to see how things unfold.
