According to the Argentine, not everyone wants the Brazilian back at Camp Nou.

It was the biggest transfer saga of the summer. Neymar was ready to quit PSG during the summer after two mixed seasons with the club in which he contributed to many goals but failed to win the Champions League and the hearts of Les Parisiens’ fans.

Barcelona, who have spent big but failed to adequately replace the Brazilian, wanted him back, with the likes of Messi, Suarez, and Pique all keen on reuniting with the South American sensation. However, things did not work out as the Blaugrana were unable to agree on a fee with his Ligue 1 employers, eventually settling for only Antoine Griezmann.

There were hopes of the Catalan giants returning for the 27-year-old next summer but Messi has thrown a Camp Nou return into doubts with his recent remarks. According to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, there are many at the club who do not wish to see the Selecao attacker back in Catalonia.

This stems from his controversial and ugly departure from La Liga. With Neymar eager to step out of Leo’s shadow, the Brazilian forced a move to Parc des Princes. In fact, his departure resulted in two suits, one from Barcelona against the Brazilian and one from the Brazilian against his former employers over unpaid bonuses.

“It is difficult to bring him back,” Leo told Metro 95.1.

“Firstly, because it was difficult to see him leave, secondly because of how he left.

“There are people from the club and the members who do not want him to return.

“If it is for sports, Ney is one of the best in the world, but I understand all the other factors.”

Messi has been open about his desire for a reunion with Neymar. Who can forget the deadly attacking trio that was MSN (Messi, Suarez, and Neymar)? However, the odds of that occurring continues to diminish.

Another thing to consider is that Barcelona are reportedly keen on replacing Suarez, who has struggled with fitness issues and inconsistency. The likes of Kane, Rashford, Lautaro, and Mbappe are on their wish list, which means we are unlikely to see the MSN trio ever again.
