Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Rafael Van Der Vaart has always had a tough time in the Champions League but he insisted that he wants to make a difference with Spurs this season.
Van der Vaart was originally doubtful for the clash against Milan but he has overcome a calf injury and looks set to start for Spurs in a match that could very well be a landmark one for the London club.

Even a scoreless draw would be enough for Spurs to progress into the quarter final- something Van der Vaart did not achieve in two years at Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Van der Vaart believes that the Champions League has always been 'hard' for him and he is determined to succeed with Spurs this season.

'When I went to Madrid I thought, “now I’ll get to the final” but in the two years I was there we lost to Lyon and Liverpool, so I was really disappointed.

'With Spurs it’s different, to reach the quarter-final the pressure is different and it isn’t necessarily expected.’

Van der Vaart will be expected to lead Tottenham's attack and if Bale does start, Milan will have two spectacular players to stop if they really want a victory at White Hart Lane
