Bayern Munich’s Mark van Bommel is currently on many clubs’ transfer radar. However, Tottenham Hotspur ace Rafael Van der Vaart wants his compatriot to land at White Hart Lane.
Serie A’s AC Milan, Wolfsburg from Germany’s Bundesliga and the English Premier League’s Manchester City are among the host of teams that have listed Mark van Bommel on their transfer wish list. The Bayern Munich captain and defender will be out of contract at the end of this season and he is yet to renew his deal with his current club as he looks to avoid making a quick decision over his career.

Van Bommel’s agent, Mino Raiola, recently revealed while speaking to Bild that Liverpool had entered the race to sign the Dutch international. However, ex-Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is already relishing the prospect of having Van Bommel at Tottenham Hotspur.

“Mark is a super player with lots of experience that would help the young players in the Tottenham team,” Rafael van der Vaart said according to Goal.com.

“The club wants to make the next step to reach the level of our local rivals Arsenal. Tottenham Hotspur are already close to getting there, but Mark can help us even further.”

Tottenham Hotspur have dropped from 4th to 5th in the English Premier League following their 0-0 draw at home to Manchester United whereas Chelsea won 3 vital points at home to Blackburn Rovers on the same match-day. Spurs could go one place higher in the EPL table for at least some time with victory over Newcastle on Saturday as Chelsea will face Bolton next Monday.
