Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was the favorite to take the UEFA Player of the Year award, and all bets were confirmed as the Real Madrid striker lifted his second straight title of the sort.
Added to his Best Striker award earlier today, the former Manchester United footballer beat long-time rival Lionel Messi and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to this prize, reaching unsuspected heights in the games' history.
No player in history has achieved what the Portuguese ace did today.

The player thanked those who motivate him to win all titles available.
"I just want to thank my team-mates, who are the ones that get me here. I also want to congratulate them for their respective awards, that makes me happy as well. I also want to thank the players on my National Team for their support. I know this is not a trophy that I won because of them, but they always keep me motivated when I go play with them," CR7 stated.
"Finally, I want to thank everyone at Real Madrid for all their love, and a big thanks to all of those that helped me win this award," the player concluded.
