La Pulga's pooch went from being cute to being gigantic in only 11 months.

Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez is one of football’s most famous dog owners, as his affection for his two best friends is downright adorable. However, Lionel Messi might just challenge the Chilean for that crown.

Messi’s dog is making the headlines for being cute, though, but rather because of his enormous size. La Pulga’s soon-to-be wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, posted a snap of her husband-to-be with their two kids and pooch.

The once sweet puppy, given to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner by his long-time partner early last year, has now grown significantly. The dog, pictured with Leo and his two boys, looks big enough to crush the 29-year-old.

Pictures from 11 months ago show just how big the pooch has grown. Check out a few pictures of the dog below.

The post came on the same day as Messi’s amazing goal on Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Villarreal. The Argentine rescued his team by bagging an 89th-minute free-kick to earn the defending Spanish champions a point.

Next up for Lionel is the FIFA Football Awards. The Albiceleste captain is up for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, but will have overcome the odds in order to beat Cristiano.
