It is almost that time of the year when clubs are poaching for new players to boost their performance in the second phase of the season. And, judging from their disappointing start to the 2016/17 season, Man Utd are among the clubs looking for reinforcement despite spending huge last summer in the transfer market.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of key players, particularly defenders, and Mourinho’s public appearance with Barcelona’s Gerard Pique on Sunday at the 02 Arena in North Greenwich, London, seemed to raise eyebrows. It should also be remembered that Pique is a former Man Utd player who spent four seasons at Old Trafford and made 12 league appearances for the Red Devils between 2004 and 2008.

The Premier League giants are expected to release some key players in January when the transfer window opens, and this could pave way for the arrival of new faces. Is Mourinho secretly luring the 29-year-old back to his former club to reinforce the defence? Only time will tell.
