Lionel Messi had scheduled a date with history prior to the start of the Copa América. He had that date today, by becoming Argentina's joint top scorer for La Albiceleste.
The Argentine ace scored his 54th goal with the National Team, good enough to equal Gabriel Batistuta's goal scoring tally. The former Fiorentina player scored his goals in less matches than "La Pulga", as he needed 78 matches to reach the Argentinean record.
If that wasn't enough for Barcelona's ace, he outsmarted the Venezuelan defense by providing two assists for his team-mates, becoming the only player in the tournament's history to hand out nine assists.
Have a look at Messi's classy tap in against Venezuela.
