The Belgium striker celebrated in tears with his brother after scoring twice in the 3-0 win over Ireland.

On Saturday, European giants Belgium silenced the critics who were doubting their chances of winning UEFA Euro 2016, as FIFA’s second highest ranked nation marched to an impressive 3-0 win over Ireland at Bordeaux.

Marc Wilmots boys suffered an unexpected 2-0 defeat in their opening game against Italy, but bounced back with an convincing triumph in their second game to move into second spot. Only one game remains – against Sweden – to secure their spot in the next round.

Romelu Lukaku shined in the weekend clash, as the Everton striker scored two of the Red Devils three goals en route to all three points. This was a befitting performance for the 23-year-old after his frustrating display in the loss to the Azzurri.

The Toffees ace’s two-goal haul saw him become the first Belgian international to score twice in a tournament match since 1998, a record previously held by the current Belgium manager Marc Wilmots.

It was obvious that the goals meant a whole lot to Lukaku, as the player was seen in tears celebrating with his brother. Of course, Twitter wasn’t too far behind to pick up on that emotional scene. Check out some of the best tweets.
