The Brazilian defender posted a strange video on his Instagram account where he downplayed the UEFA Champions League elimination against Atlético

Barcelona's right back Dani Alves could be sanctioned by his club, following a social media post in which the Brazilian international wore a wig and talked about the UEFA Champions League tie that Los Blaugranas lost against Atlético.

The club's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, spoke about the incident during a conference at Tribuna Barcelona Forum, and hinted that, even if Alves didn't mean to offend anyone, such displays of confidence should be left for later.

"We learned about Alves' post yesterday, and reactions to it keep coming in. The positive way of looking into it is that the locker room is fine, and the UCL elimination is behind us. On the other hand, some of the club's associates were offended by it, and we may have to take action to prevent these things from happening," the club's president stated.

Alves has always been the center of controversy when he uses his social media accounts to share his thoughts. Earlier this year, the player criticized the Spanish press on social media, stating they were "full of sh**"," which forced the club to issue a press release denying they shared that opinion.

Before his speech concluded, Barcelona's main man urged the Spanish Football Federation to take such matters into their own hands, given that players in La Liga don't seem to understand the reactions some of their comments on social media generate.

"We have to learn how to deal with these comments. I believe the Spanish Federation needs to rule these posts so we can regulate them," Bartomeu concluded.
