While the vast majority of fans know that football is just a game, others take their it way too seriously, getting into illegal activities. That was the case of a number of fans that decided to vandalize Cristiano Ronaldo's statue with red paint, writing Messi's last name where the player's name would be, adding "La Pulga's" Number 10.
The statue, located in Funchal, Cristiano Ronaldo's birthplace, was unveiled back in December of 2014, meters away from the museum financed by artist Ricardo Velosa.

While the Portuguese ace is yet to comment on the incident, his sister Katia Aveiro reacted furiously on social media, criticizing those who desecrated her brother's statue.
"I think the action itself is shameful, as a Portuguese citizen, I'm embarrassed. Many of us should thank and make bows to this man. It is thanks to him that many islanders still have work in this, my beautiful island which unfortunately is still inhabited by some wild frustrated people that deserve to live in Syria among people who do not respect each other," Aveiro stated via Facebook, but eventually deleted her post.
The incident took place hours after the Portuguese ace was voted second to win the 2015 Ballon D'Or, eventually won by Lionel Messi. During the ceremony, Ronaldo and the Argentinean shared a few moments together, erasing some doubts about how they get along away from the pitch.
