The Chelsea manager and striker clashed during Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho publicly clashed with star striker Diego Costa during their 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday.

With the Blues 1-0 up against their group G opponents, the Special One and the Spanish striker got into a heated argument, with captain John Terry having to step in and restrain the former Atletico Madrid forward.

The Portuguese boss, however, has now revealed that the spat between the player and manager was quickly resolved with a few hugs and kisses in the dressing room during the break.

"I wanted him to do a certain movement that he didn't," the former Real Madrid boss said.

"I was disappointed. I reacted. He reacted too. At half-time in the dressing room - a few kisses and a few cuddles."

The European away victory for the London giants puts them as favorites to finish their group as leaders, and only need a point against Porto in their final group stage game to secure progression.

However, Mourinho admitted that he was not too pleased with his team’s performance, claiming that Maccabi in fact deserved a lot more from the game.

"In the first half I could feel only the bad pitch stopped us from playing even better when we reached the last third," the 52-year-old added.

"I think we played better matches than today, but we lost. In the second half in the first 15, 20 minutes, I think we slept.

"We were too confident, we were waiting for the second goal to come. Only when we felt that we were in danger we had again a good reaction. Maccabi deserved something more than what they got."
