Along with GiRoud he has formed the most powerful duo in the EPL. Bayern Munich has only last three of its last 21 games against English teams while playing at home.

Alexis Sanches was all smiles before boarding the plane that would take Arsenal to Germany and face Bayern Munich. In a game between the best team in the Bundesliga and one of the best in the Premier League, anticipation grows by the minute and Sanchez wants to help his team win again.

After a 2-0 win in the Emirates Stadium that shocked many fans due to the fact that Arsenal had not won a Champions League game this season and Bayern was coming off a long undefeated run, the confidence is on Arsene Wenger's side. With a striker like Alexis Sanchez in top form, there is a lot for Bayern to fear about.

The Chilean player has scored six goals in 11 Premier League games this season and stands in fourth place of the top-scorers list. Then he has only scored once in the Champions League competition and the goal came in Arsenal's 2-3 loss against Olympiakos.

Arsenal players have faith in Alexis

He is doing pretty good so far

Alexis vs Germany

In the game against Bayern, Alexis only played 82 minutes, while he had played the full time in the previous two games of the competition. Ever since playing in the Champions League in 2008 with Udinese, Alexis has scored eight goals.

It was with Barcelona, with who Alexis started to shine like the big star he is today. His record against German teams while playing for the Catalan club is not so good. In his first season, they played Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16 and he scored twice in a 3-1 victory.

In his second season, Barcelona faced Bayern Munich and Bayern destroyed the Catalan side with a 7-0 aggregate, leaving Alexis empty handed that season. He played 90 minutes in the first leg and 35 in the second one. In his last season with the La Liga giants, Alexis would not face any German teams.

On July 10, 2014 he switched teams looking for a bigger role than the one he had in Barcelona, where Lionel Messi was the center of attention. In his debut season with the English club Arsenal faced Borussia Dortmund in the group stage twice and Alexis only scored once. Monaco knocked them out in the Round of 16.

In this season's game against Bayern Munich, Sanchez played the full 90 minutes but was not directly involved in the goals, either as the one that scored or with an assist. This means that in five games, Alexis Sanchez has only scored one time. He is usually a starter in those games but struggles to find the back of the net.

Sanchez wants to end the scoring drought against German teams

Possible Solution

What can be the key for Sanchez in this game, is to find the same chemistry he does in EPL games with Olivier Giroud. Between these two players, they have scored 58 goals since 2014. There is no duo in England that is more lethal than them. Now it's only a matter of time to find that same chemistry in the UCL so Arsenal can dream of bigger things in both competitions.

Having Ozil around can also help
