It would cost Chelsea £30 million to pay out the Special One. There is a lack of candidates to replace him in Chelsea's hot seat.

It is true that Chelsea has lost most of the first ten games in the Premier League (3-2-5) and that this is their worst start since 1988. Truth also is that Jose Mourinho will not be sacked even if things don't go his way this weekend against Liverpool.

Costly Move

The idea of making the Special One take one step to the side of ths ship and let Chelsea continue the season without him seems highly unlikely. Chelsea would have to pay him £30 millionas a pay out, a very big amount considering he has not won much with the team during his second stint.

Chelsea's fifth Premier League title last summer is the only title that he can brag about. Mourinho is a man that has a very methodical approach towards everything he does. He is impulsive on the sidelines but every move that he does during a game has been studied and is clearly not a gut decision.

Mourinho usually takes time to make things work. That was the case with Real Madrid as well. While he had already been with Chelsea, times change, players do the same and the competition does not stay behind. The only thing that he has yet to win with Chelsea is the Champions League.

Last time they let him go, seven coaches took his spot before his return in the span of six years. That is a lot for a big club like Chelsea where the resume of a coach needs to be quite impressive in order to get the job.

Replacing the Special One

That brings us to the next point. There are only two possible candidates to replace Mourinho. With Jurgen Klopp actually taken by Liverpool, Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola are some names linked with the job. While both managers have expressed intentions to take their talent to the Premier League, right now might not be the time.

Pep Guardiola is off to an impressive start with Bayern in his third season as the manager of the Bavarian side. Ten wins in ten Bundesliga games is a record and they are already opening a gap with the rest of the competition. Their only loss has been against Arsenal in the Champions League.

Bayern is chasing a fourth consecutive title in the Bundesliga. They are probably the strongest team in Europe and the club officials don't want to see him go before they achieve another title and possibly a Champions League title added to the list. Something they have fallen short off in the past by a slight margin.

Diego Simeone has already reached a UCL final with Atletico but they lost against Real Madrid in Portugal. The Argentinian manager is not enjoying as much success this season but has a strong curriculum to show. He has already won La Liga in one of his first years as a manager, stopping the dominance by Real and Barcelona.

What matters here is that this season they are in third place but not creating that much buzz because their results have not been that impressive. Aside from a 1-1 draw in the Madrid Derby, Atletico's performances may not be so pleasant for Chelsea's staff.

Media Storm

We all know that Mourinho is not a friend of the media. He does his best to make them mad,  but he sure creates good content. Even when he snubs the media after games like the one against West Ham where they continued to drop points with a 2-1 loss.

Mou knows what he is doing and in the situation he is in. He won't tell you the truth most of the times. He is great at finding excuses due to bad officiating or other external factors. What he does not want is more pressure than the one he already has to deal with. Mou is a master of his craft even when everything seems lost.

Ferguson Approach

There was a time during Sir Alex Ferguson's time with Manchester United that the team did not win anything but a FA Cup title in only three years. No good results in the Premier League nor the Champions League were good reasons to think Ferguson should have been fired, but the team held on to him and it worked.

After those dark times for the Red Devils came a period in which the patience paid off. Ferguson went on to win five more Premier League titles as well as a Champions League title plus also reaching a couple more finals. He ended up retiring becuase he wanted to and not becuase someone told him to go. Manchester United has not won a major title since then.
