Sporting Braga want to work their enchanting sword against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, just as they did against Celtic and Sevilla…
Striker Matheus is confident and willing to help the Portuguese surprise package to keep creating wonders. If Scotland giants Celtic or Copa del Rey champions Sevilla don’t have their name among the UEFA Champions League’s thirty-two contenders, it’s because of Sporting Braga’s heroics.

The Iberian side committed two giant killings as they reached the group stages of the European tournament in style. Having been paired in a fairly balanced group which includes the likes of Arsenal, Partizan Belgrade, and Shaktar Donetsk, Sporting Braga will feel that eying a top two finish isn’t too much dreaming.

Brazilian player Matheus talked to the Daily Star to remind the public of Sporting Braga’s intentions as he stated:

“By qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League, we’ve already achieved something great. But, that’s not enough.

“Braga aren’t just going into the competition as tourists. Our goal is to travel across Europe and to win. Arsenal are the favorites to win [Wednesday’s] match and the group as well.

“But, we can spring a big surprise. After all, nobody thought we could beat Sevilla.”

One fact is that Arsenal are unbeaten this season as they are fresh from a well-deserved 4-1 victory against Bolton in the English Premier League.

So how will Sporting Braga deal with the Gunners' speed and passing accuracy when they take them on at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal’s last UEFA Champions League match ended in a 2-2 draw against Barcelona? Striker Matheus shared his ideas, saying:

"The key to win the match will be for us to give our all. We'll have to take advantage of the chances that we get on the counterattack. "

"I appreciate Arsenal’s incredible attacking style, but I’m not ready to suffer from it. I’m going to play to enjoy it. It will be fantastic for me to score at the Emirates."
