The Polish striker had a broken nose and jaw during the DFB-Pokal game against Borussia Dortmund, but he will be taking part of the UCL semi-finals.

Robert Lewandowski will be available for Bayern Munich during the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final matchup against Barcelona. The former Borussia Dortmund striker trained today with Guardiola's side wearing a protective mask, which will make him available for the game.

Lewandowski came down with a broken nose and jaw during the DFB-Pokal semi-finals against Dortmund, which saw Jürgen Klopp's side progress after a penalty shoot-out. Lewandowski left the game after a clash with goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak, and he was believed to be OK since he left the pitch by his own feet. Later tests showed the injuries already mentioned, but Bayern's doctors had his mask tailored especially for him, so he could be available for Wednesday's game.

Apparently, Lewandowski had only suffered a concussion against Dortmund, but later tests revealed his true condition.

Prior to his appearance in Monday's training session, Lewandowski used his Twitter feed to show the world how he will look in his team's upcoming matches.

 "Ready for the next challenge!"

Lewandowski's team-mate Jerome Boateng spoke about how the Polish player will have to adapt to his head gear, in order to help the Bavarians against Barcelona. "I think Robert is in shape, and he is fully motivated to play. I'm sure he isn't scared about what could happen to him. In fact, I believe he will be used to playing with the mask by the time we storm the pitch," Boateng added.

Even if he is cleared by the team's doctors to play, Pep Guardiola will have the final say about Lewandowski's presence on the pitch, but with the series of injuries that have slowed down Bayern, the Spanish manager will surely use the striker during the game.
