Kaká scored his third goal of the season with Orlando City SC against Portland. The former FIFA World Player of the Year has scored half of the goals for his team and is tied in second among the MLS top scorers.

Orlando grabbed the lead in the first half with a goal from Clye Larin in the 30th minute of the first half. The Canadian international received a cross from Kevin Molino so that Larin with hid chest just directed the ball to the back of the net.

The local side could not respond to Oralndo’s goal. The visiting team continued to control the game and the figure of Kaká started to rise by the minute. The game-deciding play came until the second half, with less than five minutes to go.

Portland’s Adam Larsen drew a foul on Orlando’s Carlos Rivas as the game approached its final moments. Maximilliano Urruti was shown the yellow card for protesting and Kaká was the man in charge of taking the penalty kick.

Incredibly, he missed in his first attempt with a save from Kwarasey, but was given a second chance since the referee called encroachment on Chara. Kaka would not miss on his second attempt and secured the win for Orlando City.

The team from central-Florida is now third in the Eastern Conference with eight points after six games. This is only their second win of the season. They had not won since beating Houston 1-0.

Kaká was named the man of the match after the game was over. He now hopes to continue to inspire his team when they visit Columbus Crew at the Mapfre Stadium on April 18.
