Moments after missing a sitter in front of goal, striker Anthony Modeste became the hosts' hero with a crucial goal to tie the game.

Things seemed to be going just like Bayern wanted in one more edition of Der Klassiker, but an unsung hero stepped up to ruin their plans and to derail them in their effort to claim the top spot in the Bundesliga.

Bayern took a two-nil lead thanks to goals by Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sané, but Youssoufa Moukoko's strike kept things interesting until the last minute with a goal during the final stretch of the game. When things seemed to be in place for Bayern to win, a series of corner kicks changed the outcome of the match.

Borussia Dortmund were pressing hard to score the equalizer and finally, after 95 minutes, the Black and Yellow had their faith rewarded with a key header by Anthony Modeste, who was all alone inside the box to score the game-tying goal.

The header ended an eight-game losing streak for Borussia Dortmund against their bitter rivals, and to make things even more interesting, it has kept both German giants with the same number of points and behind league leaders Union Berlin and Freiburg, who are set to play tomorrow.

Added to that, this goal gave Modeste a shot at redemption moments after being blasted by Dortmund fans for missing a clear chance in front of goal by failing to hit the ball to the back of the net twice in less than three seconds.
