Almost everything Lionel Messi does on the pitch is complete magic. One of this generation's greatest and most talented football player ever, the Argentine rarely does anything wrong when mesmerizing the fans for Barcelona or his national team.
The same, however, cannot be said for his wardrobe choices. The 27-year-old has become an icon for wearing unusual, eye-catching outfits when attending ceremonies and award shows.
With the Ballon d'Or gala only a few hours away, set to take place on Monday, January 12, much hype surrounds what the Albiceleste captain will wear to the proceedings in Zurich. Will he cause another stir on social media with some questionable fashion choices?
Of course, who can forget that polka dot tuxedo Messi wore when he last lifted the award back in January 2013, bearing in resemblance with fellow Argentine legend Diego Maradona.
Messi, who the following year lost out to Real Madrid rival Cristiano Ronaldo, was then seen sporting a Ron Burgundy-like red suit when hitting the stage.
Now, going up against the Portuguese attacker once again for the coveted award, alongside World Cup winner and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, one can only imagine what La Pulga has in mind for this Ballon d'Or gala. Could the four-time winner be wearing any of these on Monday?
