The Portuguese player also received the Di Stefano award, given every year to the league's Most Valuable Player.

Cristiano Ronaldo received today the Pichichi award, given every year to La Liga's top scorer, and the Alfredo DiStefano trophy, delivered to the Most Valuable Player of the Spanish tournament. During the ceremony, the Portuguese superstar paid his respect to the late Di Stefano, who passed away earlier this year.

"I want to take this opportunity to say it's a pity not to have Don Alfredo with us. I have watched his videos and he was truly outstanding. Being connected to him through this award is an honor for me, because ever since I met him I was amazed by how he treated me," Ronaldo said.

CR7's performance has been outstanding this year, leading La Liga's scorers with 18 goals so far. On that matter, the Portuguese international stated he just wants to keep improving, so he can win more trophies.

"Picking up these awards again next year would be good; it'd be a sign that I've performed well. My goal is to win things as a team and individually. I work hard towards that end, so if I'm here next year, it'll be a good sign,"Ronaldo added.

The player born in Madeira shared his thoughts about Real Madrid's current performance, which has reflected on his playing style this year.

"I'm happy, the team are doing very well and we're improving. My assists and goals stats aren't too shabby. I want to keep learning. Maybe I'm at my peak, but I always strive to be better than the year before. The time will come when I won't achieve it, though," Ronaldo ended.
