Chelsea's striker has been the object of controversy between Jose Mourinho and Vicente del Bosque, so the Spanish manager decided to rest him in this International break.

After all the controversy surrounding his recent injuries, Spain's coach Vicente Del Bosque decided to rest Diego Costa for this International week, so Chelsea's striker can focus on playing with his team.

"We thought the best he can do is rest. He has been struggling with his groin injuries, and even though he wanted to be here, his health is an issue of major concern, so it's better for him to slow down and rest this time," Del Bosque said.

The Spanish coach is trying to rebuild a team that seems to have lost their current form. With that in mind, Del Bosque summoned players like Jose Callejon, Nacho Camacho and Francisco Alarcón "Isco", looking for new blood for La Roja.

"They have been playing top quality football, scoring goals and in great shape. We think that against Belarus they'll come in handy since we expect them to play extremely defensive football. We are adding young players in different positions and we will continue doing so," the coach added.

About who will be defending the Spanish posts, Del Bosque refused to comment on the matter.

"We have not decided if we will rotate our keepers. We need to be delicate with that issue, and whatever the case is, we want all of the 23 players to feel they can make a difference. So, we will decide on that later," Del Bosque stated.

Spain will face Belarus on November 15, having programmed also a friendly match against Germany three days later.
