The whole world's heart shattered as James Rodriguez broke down to tears upon Colombia's World Cup elimination.
The South American side lost their quarter-finals match against host nation Brazil on a narrow 2-1 scoreline with goals coming from Thiago Silva and David Luiz.
Many believed Jose Pekerman's side could dump the five-time champions out of the competition given the fact that they boast the current 2014 World Cup top scorer.
However, they failed to do so as they bowed out of the competition, which brought much sadness to the Monaco attacker.
In an act of class and great sportsmanship, Brazil defender David Luiz, who sealed the deal on Colombia's exit with a beautifully taken free-kick goal, and Dani Alves comforted the Ligue 1 attacker.
The newly signed Paris Saint-Germain center back stood by th 22-year-old Colombian, hugging him through his despairs before clapping for the Colombian as Los Cafeteros' players exited the pitch.

WATCH THE EPIC MOMENT BELOW:
After the game, manager Jose Pekerman admitted Rodriguez was the driving force behind the team, saying: "We dreamed of this for James Rodriguez. He was one of the protagonists of the World Cup.”
On a funnier note, Rodriguez was also given a pat on the shoulder, during the game, but not by a player.
The young Colombian, who scored his side's only goal through a penalty in the 80th minute, saw himself stalked by a giant insect during the spot kick.

Even as he celebrated the goal, the humongous bug remained stiff on Los Cafeteros' number 10's shoulder.
James Rodriguez, though, can hold his head up high as he departs the tournament with an impressive tally of six goals which could still see him claim the Golden Boot.
