L'Equipe history, coverage, features
L'Equipe is a free-to-air sports TV channel available in France.Amaury Group owns the channel and was originally launched in 1998 as a pay-TV channel called L'Equippe TV. However, in 2012, it was rebranded as L'Equipe 21 and began broadcasting on free-to-air television. Four years later, it was renamed 'L'Equipe'.
The channel focuses exclusively on sports coverage, and over the years, it has had the broadcast rights to several big football competitions, including the Coppa Italia and Copa del Rey.
On top of live sports coverage, the channel puts a lot of emphasis on magazine and review shows. There are weekly reviews on football's biggest tournaments, including the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1.
L'Equipe can be found on French terrestrial television via channel 21, while it can also be live-streamed through the L'Equipe app, which can be downloaded for free onto iOS and Android devices in France.
